IHCtech was founded in 2002 by Patsy Ruegg, after 25 years as director of a histology core lab at the University of Colorado pathology department. Over the last ten years, IHCtech has developed a strong reputation for high-quality advanced immunohistochemistry procedures, meeting the IHC and histology needs of pharmaceutical and academic investigators. A number of novel techniques in bone and brain histology have been developed in this lab, and more recently new approaches to dual staining in immunohistochemistry and triple staining in immunofluorescence.
IHCtech has been a place of training for many future histologists and histotechnicians, that now run their own laboratories or work in large clinical or pharmaceutical histology operations. Over 350 antibodies have been optimized in ten years of experience in animal and human tissue.
In 2012, Flagship Biosciences aquired IHCtech as a wholly owned subsidiary, allowing histology and immunohistochemistry approaches to be re-examined with an end goal of better quantitation and reproducibility in whole slide imaging. Together Flagship and IHCtech lead the industry in integrated approaches to delivering quantitative tissue analysis.
